Welcome to the LLI Blog...

Spring Branch Independent School District Special Education Department
is officially on the cutting edge (yet again) with a new literacy system, Leveled Literacy Intervention by Irene C. Fountas & Gay Su Pinnell. This system is scientifically-based to accelerate student's literacy learning.

LLI is a supplementary intervention designed for children who find reading and writing difficult. The goal of the intervention is to bring the lowest achievers in literacy to grade level achievement.

This blog is meant to help teachers who are new to this intervention system, by giving them helpful advice during the implementation process. By having this blog, collaboration can begin with teachers starting the system, along side those who have been working with LLI and allow colleagues to help each other out here. Please stop by and take a look as we share our thoughts and feelings about this new literacy intervention throughout the year.

Let me be the first one to make the first post...I'm really excited about this new system, since I know a lot of students who can really benefit from it. How does everyone else feel about it???

what happens when you don't finish a lesson during your alloted time? Do you move on to the next lesson the next session or do you continue from where you were???
